I have recently recovered stolen certificates of bonds, etc. that I did not steal. My ex-boyfriend is incarcerated and when I moved out of my home that we shared once he was incarcerated I had help packing and then put everything into storage. Now that everything is out of storage I have been trying to go thru things to consolidate and separate our belongings. I would like to return the stolen items to its rightful owners, but I'm worried that I will get into trouble for possessing the stolen items. How can I return them without suffering any consequences for something i didn't do?

If you were not involved just let the police and the owners know that. And show you are acting to have it resolved.
