Hi,
I'm a new member here, and first off thanks to all the guys helping people like me with advice. To start off, I'm a citizen of India now residing in Canada as a student on a student permit, Now onto my case, here's what happened, a friend of mine who's got the same legal status as mine, has his dad in Georgia who wanted to give him a car, so we went to georgia to pick it up and drove it to Canada, the problem was we didn't know that it has to be imported. So we were stopped by border police and we were damn near arrested because they thought we stole the car, to make the maters worse, my friends dad is a car dealer and he forgot a bunch of keys in this car, so the police thought we were illeagally sneaking them in. We told them our story but they didn't believe it, finally, the dad came in to clear the mess, they finally let us go and we paid all the taxes to import the car. The officer told me that this is not going to be on our record, but the incident report is going to be in their database. I guess I was at the wrong place at the wrong time, this is what you get for trying to help your buddy out. My question is, would this have any implications, I really dont want to get into any trouble with the cops, I've never had legal problems, and I dont want one. Does anyboy know anything about this kinda situation?? somebody please help, I'm scared to death right now. |

Normally no this is not going to be any kind of problem for you. Unless the same thing happens a few times.

Thanks man, that really helps. Do you happen to know if this would cause any kinda problem when I apply for immigration?
Your help is extremely appreciated. |
