Hello,
I just moved into a house along with 2 other people that I do not know. As it turns out one of them may recieve house arrest for a DUI or similar charge. He wasnt clear on the details. Either way, what does this mean for me? Will the police have the ability to show up at any given time and search all the rooms? Will I be required in any way to tied to the case, as a roomate will my name apear on any of the offenders court papers? I didn't think too much about it at the time, but now I am a little concerned. I have no criminal record. This may come to a point where we decide to ask the roomate to move out. Any advice or further reading would be appreciated. This is in California. |

Call the police or court to check what has been ordered but normally it will not make much difference for you; but yes they can come check.
