eating on public transportation
I am being charged a $122 fee for consumption of food or beverages on pulic transportation under california penal code 640(b)(4) and I was wondering if I can request of the judge to serve community service or if there are any alternatives to paying the fine.

You indeed can request it--especially if you are low income or without income.
