Do Female Sex Offenders Recieve Less Punishment?

Hopefully, someone can shed some light & opinion on this...I have noticed that this usually has become a debatable subject, whether you hear about it on the local news or top cable news networks, but I came across an article and it seems to show that female sex offenders typically get lighter sentencing penalties compared to a male offender?...

There has been so much in the news about female teacher sex offender that the media seems fascinated by it...almost as if its okay & in some cases get away with a free pass because they are pretty and almost as defined as sex symbols...Do you feel there is somewhat of an imbalance in our justice system when it pertains to this subject?
