Domestic Assault

I was arrested and am being charged for domestic assault against my boyfriend. I have no prior criminal offenses and am in my 5th and final year of Teacher's College and cannot afford to have any criminal record. The Crown Attourney told my boyfriend that they made me a plea bargain that would give me counselling and probation and no record. However, my lawyer failed to inform me of this offer and went ahead and told me to plead not guilty. I do not believe I have a solid case against my boyfriend, even though it was a mutual fight and argument. We are not an abusive couple and this was under extraordinary circumstances, he wants the charges dropped but there's nothing he can do. What are my options?
