Confused am I inadmissable to Canada? need to know quick!

Hi, I am supposed to travel to Ontario, Canada this Thursday to present work at a professional conference, and I am worried that I will be considered 'inadmissable' to Canada, because I was turned away from the border in 1998 at Windsor, when someone in my car had marijuana and my car was searched, and the owner denied possession. I was issued a fine (~$70), which I paid, and then returned to the US. The whole process was very short, maybe a couple hours. I'm not sure if I was 'charged' or 'convicted', and so I'm not sure if I am 'inadmissable' to Canada, and therefore unable to get in once I arrive at immigration, without having established 'rehabilitation' or 'temporary residence'. Can you please tell me whether to get on the plane to Canada this Thursday morning?

If they turned you away and they had your ID then they normally did register it and you won't get it.

get a visa and and you can override that...or take a chance at the border and see what happens

Are you sure? I've gotten several people tell me they think I should be okay.

No need to chance it if it could be embarrassing or you will be with co-workers etc.

You can ask the Embassy for an approved entry permit. In the process they will let you know your situation.
