Bogus Statements in ExParte Order for Protection in MN
I was served with an OFP from my ex-girlfriend alleging previous domestic violence, harassment and threats. All accusations are either lies or some little thing blown all out of proportion. My question is: I have the right to request a hearing within 5 days - Should I? Also, can local law enforcement press charges against me for the false statements that she made, even if they are way after the fact? Her new boyfriend has been harassing and taunting me to fight - we haven't. I live in a small community in MN so we may run into each other, but I'm not stalking her!

You should go if you don't think she was accurate. It would help to have a lawyer handle it with you if possible.
