Unhappy How much trouble would I get into...?

If I were to take my 2 year old son and move out of state with him, hiding him from the other person, a non-parent joint managing conservator, who is involved in my case? There are civil court orders in effect saying that I may not move, but the situation is getting more and more violent, and no one wants to help us. I've filed harassment reports, and the other person is even being charged for family violence assault against me, but because the county in which I live is different from the county in which the orders were signed, I am having an impossible time trying to get the court with jurisdiction over the custody case to realize how dangerous this man is.

Also consult your local police and seek a restraining order through them as well--if you have any problems let us know. Taking off and hiding is generally not a good idea unfortunately.

you would get into a lot of trouble. kidnapping, interference with custody come to mind. you can not only go to jail, but be reduced to either having supervised visitation with your son, or no visitation at all. and no hope of EVER getting custody again.
