I live in California but took place in Georgia. Ok try to be brief as I can. So in Nov. 2005 I was arrested in Georgia for shop lifting at Wal-mart. Well I was going to fight it all the way to the supreme court if needed as I was NOT shop lifting! Ok they gave me a ticket to appear at the end of Jan of 2006 and I went. They postponed everyone there till middle of Feb and again I went. I was asked if I wanted a jury trail or judge? I said jury and they were shocked, Well I was told I would be notified of a court date. I waited and after the end of March I started calling nearly every day and made several trips in person and I was told the same thing each time. "the hearings havent been scheduled yet" well after 2 months of this the Office lady told me they had actully lost my paperwork and were still looking for it. No problem for now however in the month of july it became a HUGE problem. I was in an abusive relationship and had finally found a way out. I was moving to Cali. on August 9th and the plane tickets were already paid for. I explained this to prosecutors office and she told me they still can't find papers. Well I moved and figured I could take care of it from Ca. Well I called several times over the last 3 years and nobody knew anything. Each time they checked for a warrant and there wasn't one as of Oct. 2008 well I guess they found the papers cause about 3 weeks ago they went to the exes house to arrest me for a bench warrant. He told them I was in another state. Well my son is getting married in Oct and I am afraid to go and get locked up cause the exe has a grudge. I want to take care of it but I don't know what to do. Please if you have any thoughts please share them.

You need a Lawyer not a website.

On the shoplifting matter. You say you were "not" shoplifting but fail to say why you say so. There is a forum site that answers questions from accused shoplifters tha tmight help with that I have linked that site here
