forgery/counterfeit

I'm trying to learn why the Secret Svc is involved, what the difference between forgery & counterfeit is, & what the average time my ex will most likely spend for 2 class c felony forgery charges? He is on parole, but his PO is very cool & patient. I'd also like to know if I was to receive a receipt for my property that was taken by the police, which was my printer? Long story short, my now ex printed 5 $20's from my home computer & got caught spending 4. Secret Svc & local police visited me, but I thought it was strange that the matter demanded the Secret Svc, yet the police was doing all the interviewing. Furtherthat, the police took my printer (w/ my permission), but didn't give me a receipt for my property, which I thought was to happen. I'm now told one will be mailed to me. @@ Anyways, I'm just trying to get an idea as to what could happen to my ex & how severe all this is? Thanks for any responses.
