Default Getting rid of unwanted guest

I live with my wife, 2 kids (3 and 4 years old) and father who comes home stupid drunk every night. He is swearing continually in front of my kids, very disruptive, very loud, and scaring them and my wife. He is not physically abusive but does threatened me and my brother. Also he is on clonazapam an anxiety medication which should not be taken with alcohol (which seems to amplify the drunk). He seems to be mentally imbalanced because he is always saying really weird and scary stuff all the time. It's my house and he gives us money to stay there. I've told him no more coming home drunk or don't come home at all. He refuses to stop drinkin and I'm scarred he might do something one of these times because like I said he's going fricken nuts. I want to call the cops to get him arrested or kicked out. He is not on the lease he just pays us to stay there. If I call the cops on him when he is drunk will they take him to jail or at least make him leave my home? I am at my wits end and just want him to leave me and my family alone. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I live in Sioux Falls, SD

As a recovering alcoholic I can tell you, you & your family are living in an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS situation. As difficult as it is you need to go to the police & get a protection order. I've heard your story hundreds of times and it never ends well.
Go to the police and get him out. They will counsel you on exactly what legal steps are appropriate.

After he is out see if you can't get him into a program for his alcoholism.

Thanxs dude! I'm 27 years old and fairly big and tuff so I finally kicked him out 3 days ago and told him not to come back drunk or I'll kick him out again. He's a good guy and all but when he's drunk he's just such an @#*hole that noone can stand to be around him and I'm sick of dealing with him. I only let him say with us because he had gotten his 3rd DWI in and spent 4 months in jail and had absolutly nowhere to go. He was different back then because he had just gotten out of jail and wasn't going back so he was nice and calm and respectable; dad he used to be. And because he was lonely he was going to the bar every night. At first it was fine but somewhere along the way he started doing drug like meth and his entire personality changed for the way worse. My family has been putting up with it because we love Jesus and were trying to do the right thing and trying to help him. But he kept coming home drunk and I kept telling him I'm not going to take it anymore and said if u come home drunk one more time I'm kicking u out. He wouldn't stop so I did. He came and got some of his stuff yesterday and I took his house key and he understands that this really happened. HE'S OUT!!!!! My advise to anyone dealing with this sort of thing is, do whats best for YOUR family!!! They come first and that's the reason I kicked my dad out. He still has nowhere to go but it was his choise to keep drinkin (it's like he just couldn't stop, his demon had controll of him) and I had to do what's best for my wife and 2 young children!
