Hello,
I was charged with Possession of Cocaine in 1998. The case was resolved with my pleading guilty to "attempted possession" (a misdemeanor) in 1999. My record is clean except for this one offense. Shortly after that time I applied to purchase a firearm and was informed I was denied under the Ohio "weapon's disability" law. I have since straighted out my life...I am CLEAN & SOBER 10+ years (it will be 11 years on 7-19-09) and I would like to know what I need to do to (hopefully) restore my right to own a firearm? Do I need a lawyer? Any help greatfully appreciated. Richard |
