In 2000 I plead no contest to a felony charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. I was sentenced to three years of probation, and adjudication of guilt was withheld. This was in the state of Florida. I absconded. I returned in 2007 to resolve the issue, and was sentenced to three years of probation and was convicted of the felony charges. In December of this year I will receive an early termination of my probation.
I have some questions regarding my rights. I know that Florida will restore my rights. But I live in Georgia. Do I have to apply for restoration in both states? Can Georgia deny me the rights that Florida returned? Can I have the felony conviction expunged? Can I hold a professional license in the state of Georgia? I have the training to hold a massage therapist's license. I intend to pursue a medical license if I can do so legally. Can I get a passport? Can I apply for a pardon? If a pardon is granted, how then are my rights affected? I know that is a lot of questions. I appreciate any input. |

If Florida resolves you normally need not do more.
But felony charges are not easy to remove/seal/expunge once you have been convicted. You need to consult one or several criminal law lawyers and ask based on your details if it can be removed/expunged etc. If it is not, you will not get most professional licenses. |

Stick a ****** in your mouth and your butt do a little dance and spin around three times and you should be expunged and able to get your license. If you need any more help let me know. Signed disgruntled felon who can't expunge for 8.5 years. |

You can not get an expungement if you plead guilty to a crime only if you are found guilty by a jury. You will not need to have your rights restored in GA, bc they were not revoked there. You best bet is to apply for a pardon in FL. I do not know the procedures there. A felony conviction unfortunately can wreck your chances at most professional careers. I am not for sure about MT. I would contact the LMT board in GA, if that is where you intend to get licensed. I hope this helps some. Did you know that you can even get in the military with a felony conviction! But not if it is a drug charge or CDV. You can get a passport once you are released from probation. It is very doubtful if you will ever be able to get a medical license without a pardon. Good luck! |

Your state senator may help with a pardon if you have a great argument.
