Default Diversion program for petty theft in KY? how they work?

Is it like being in jail? do you have to deal with police?

I am a first time offender , petty theft from when i used to work(wal mart). it was a mistake of me being in the wrong place at the wrong time . now i am facing charges with ''theft by deceit" and it wasn't even my fault. but anyway i haven't gone to court yet but i am told diversion program can keep me from going through all that.

can someone please explain usually what you do? thanks

This is a great thing! Most of the time you have a counselor come and talk to you bout what you done, and why, and things you can do to prevent such actions on down the road.

Before you agree, see if the charges can be dismissed upon completion of enrollment of such a class. Stips, such as providing the court with documentation of completion must be presented before they completly dismiss the charge.
