Default Can they do this?

I don't want to get into too much detail since it is a very personal matter.

I recently visited my girlfriend I was dating at the time and I did something her parents didnt approve of. It wasn't illegal but Im an adult and she isnt.

The thing is that her parents called the cops and they told me I cannot speak to her ever agian. Even if she engaged in the conversation first.

Can they really do anything if we did speak again? Even if it is her choice to talk to me? I wasn't arrested nor was I charged with a crime. They basically spoke to me just to scare me.

I also live in a different state than her.

They can enforce their own rules with her if she is a minor but they cannot do anything to you as long as no sexual relations etc. occur
