I'm 21 years old and my mother is 56. We've never gotten on very well for very long, but recently she got back from a 6 week trip to England to see her family. Since her return on Friday, she's been twice as irritable and causing trouble. Last night we had words and it ended in her throwing a phone and makeup bag at me, and then my hairbrush at the wall. This isn't the first time she's physically hurt me, but it's easily the most damaging. In the past she's slapped me, smacked my back with my hairbrush, left bruises on my arms and neck from grabbing me roughly, and damaged my spine alignment from neck trauma. There's a bruise slowly forming on my right leg (from the phone), and it's painful to walk. Do I have a good enough case against her? There are several people who can and will testify if necessary. I don't want to lock her up, or anything. She's going through a lot, but she needs to find a different way of dealing with her emotions. I know I'm not that bad of a daughter!

You can file a police report if need be. That indeed is not legal!
