Before judging this question? you dont know me nor my husband at all, we are humans and just want to be treated that way, we live in the State of Washington, and his crime was commited in 1985 when he was 19 years old,
was in a wrong place and a VERY WRONG time in his life, his intent was to robbery, then with 2 of his friends present, didnt know victims would be home robbed then raped them, his 2 friends served time in prison, and he( my husband did too) serve time in prison( from 1985 till 1999) then upon release from prison, the police has a warrant to serve him yet again to commit him INDEFINATLY! not his other 2 friends, friends are not black, my husband is! he was commited to the Special Commitment Center on Mc.Neil Island. the program is suspose to help these so call sex offenders get the almost treatment, staff treats them like they are not human at all! my husband completed the program in fall of 2005, meanwhile, its 2008 and he is still there at Special commitment center where staff has wild parties on the property along with drug distrubtion on the presemis and there are men in there getting treatment for their addition. whats wrong with this picture? they treat families like they are prisioners, by searching them, harrassing them dont invite them to treatment team meetings, family coferences, NOTHING! its like they are allowed to treat families like this? I want to change this and make sure my voice gets heard somehow! and be able to help my husband who is more than ready to go back into the community. |

You may want to contact your state legislator and see if he will help to work with you to introduce the topic, new laws etc.
Everybody agrees this is an area of law that needs a lot of work! |
