May a charge be withdrawn by the peron who laid a charge at any time
Person A lay a charge of assault against person B. May he withdraw the charge at any time what is the procedure? |

Go to the prosecutors office, and drop the charges.

You can ask but there is no guarantee.
The State has its own interest in prosecuting any crime. This happens a lot in domestic violence cases. |

Try speaking to the DA. They have the right to continue to pursue the case on their own (even if you don't want them to) but if they feel this was a one-time incident and will never happen again--they may drop it.
