false Accusation

I worked at an advertising company in Sri Lanka, the company was running at a loss and salary was not been paid. Therefore I Obtained employment elsewhere and gave in my resignation. However since i was not getting any payment i mentioned in the letter that i will be retaining the company laptop until my overdue salary is paid. Thereafter the Chairman, spoke to me and confirmed that my salary will be paid, so i gave back the laptop. Upon trust, but forgot to take the letter i gave him. after a few months i was only given half of that money, i was upset and in need of my money and i called his office and the Receptionist said he is not in I was so upset that he avoids my calls, under sheer frustration I told the receptionist that he is just making me run around and he is a monkey. Somehow he has been evesdropping on teh conversation and called me back sreaming flith, he mentioned he will be making a police entry on me at that time i did not realize he would stoop down to such vindictive actions. He has now a complain at the police station stating that i took his laptop. he has also stated taht he has given a sum of 138,000 Ruppess which is untrue I only recieved 38,000 Ruppees and he still owes me another 14,000/- He has used that letter i gave him to make this complain.

I am currently not of the country on a job assignment. Please advice what will happen. And what i should do now, I am worried if he will also inform the sri lankan immigration and one i get back i may be arrested.

Please can someone help me I am not a rich woman I have various family obligations to take care of as well.
