EEK! False Accusations... Birthday party i attended and a buncha drunk minors showed up

ok heres the story.... my buddy had a 22nd birthday party i attended and a buncha drunk minors showed up.... a fight broke out and i grabbed my buddy and said sit here me or you don't need any trouble so that what we did and then i heard the victim cry out my leg my leg.... so i ran over and helped him up and proceeded to help him get out of there we went a few blocks and i set him down and went back for his friends..... this was 4 months ago and now i get a letter in the mail telling me i am being charged along with 4 other people for 3rd degree assault..... some girl at the party said she seen me choking him..... now i did nothing to injury this guy and about 15 people including the other 3 being charged will testify that i had nothing to do with this but trying to help the guy.... what exactly are my options and what should i expect to happen.....and if so what should i be doing in the mean time to help speed things up and possibly get the charges dropped against me.....
