record not right

in 1996 i was arrested and convicted of a misdemeanor all other charges were dropped.12 years later i still can not get a decent job. i ran a background check through the pa state police repository and sure enough they have me convicted of a felony. i went to the county court house and had them pull up my judicial document from this case and had it notarized.all the felonies had been dropped and i had only been convicted of 1 misdemeanor. i called the state police headquarters in harrisburg, pa and they said there was nothing they could do. i took the notarized court document to the state police and asked them to fix it and they replied everyone makes mistakes and they could not fix it. they said i should get a lawyer and pay to have my record expunged. i just want it fixed. why should i pay a lawyer to expunge something that is not true. the police should be paying me for having me down as a convicted felon when i am not. what can i do , what should i do? please help.

You can show that to employers...

If you push the police and DA enough it will be corrected. But frankly having the record and perhaps even the misdemeanor expunged may be even better if that could be done...World Law's lawyers could also probably intervene and help resolve this if need be. You may email them on the home page.

make thr cops pay for it. Sue them and the court system for putting false information out about you.
