Default need to know what I should do?

some 22 years ago I plead guilty to attempted sexual assault in Alabama. I received 5 years, had one years suspended and then was on probation for the remainder of the time. I moved from the State and have had no problems anywhere since then. But now I have a major difficulty. I have been living in Alabama for the past 6 years, and have not registered as a sex offender. I had no idea I was supposed to. I just found out, however, that Alabama law requires that anyone who has EVER been convicted must register. Well, having been here for 6 years I am scared to death to try and register now. Is there some way I can resolve this issue without major trouble? I suppose my other option would be to just move out of the state again. I would sure appreciate it if someone could just point me in the right direction.

You need to take all your records and files to a lawyer and have this reviewed.

You may or may not be required to register. If you were required then you can work on a plan to deal with this. The law is technical in thos area so get expert help--that is familiar with the issue already.
