Mother needs help
My ex-common law was charged of 3 assault against me. There are few reason for me to consider not to continue the charges for the benefits of my baby. (He's not with us and no chance of getting togerher again). What is the best thing for me to do. If I dropped the case, what will happen to me as well as if I'm not going to testify.
Please I need help as I'm too stressed out thingking what is the best thing for me to do. Thanks, Begging mother. |

I would not recommend you drop charges if a serious assault occurred but...
you could try speaking to the DA, or even have world law do so for you. The state has the right to continue to pursue the case on their own (even if you don't want them to) but if they feel this was a one-time incident and will never happen again--they may drop it. They want to make sure no abuse is continuing if and when you two are back together. |
