could someone tell me the difference or if there is a difference between rape and sexual assualt? I have a friend that was the recent victim of a crime.

What is rape?
Rape is a very serious crime that is included in the same classification as murder and robbery. Though the exact definition of rape varies from state to state, it is generally defined as forced vaginal, anal, or oral penetration.
