Default Public Humiliation

I am a 22 yr old girl. I was driving back home from work yesterday when an impatient driver behind me started honking because I was yielding for other drivers in a traffic signal. So, i honked back and in the process we exchanged fingers. Later at the next signal there was a congestion, so, this guy got out of his car, came over to me, started yelling at me, and before I could say a word back simply slapped me hard across my face in front of so many other people and walked back to his car. He then drove away. I felt so humiliated. I have lodged a complaint with the police and they have already identified him. Also, I have an eye witness for this incidence. What kind of case will this be accounted as? Can i sue that guy for public humiliation? What is the best way of punishing him for this?

But, is it worth it to waste time and money on pursing this loser guy by filing a criminal and a civil law suit? Do such "dick-heads" ever get punished??

Ive had little BI#$%@!'s like yourself flip me off from the safety of their car and i would have loved the chance to do what this guy did to you! How satisfying it must have been to smack you across your big F$%@#$!n mouth. Next time someone honks at you, keep your mouth shut and finger gestures to yourself!
