Disability screwup

I have been drawing my Social Security Disability for 3 years and I have recently screwed up because I worked for this company and didn't report the information. I have since been let go from the company because of an investigation being done from social security. Since being let go my previous bosses have continued to talk about my drawing disability which I am told is a violation of a privacy act. I'm not sure if it's tru or not. They have continued to tell people, family members and friends information that they have no business telling. One incident is that they have repeatedly told people that they have already found a foster family to take my daughter away from my husband and I. I screwed up and I know that. We were so behind on our bills because my husband had not worked in over two years and once I got the job and we started actually getting bills caught up and were able to take care of our family like we should I was scared to quit and then we would be back to struggling every month not having the money should something happen to us. I suffer from Bipolar Disorder which is how I was able to draw my disability. I still have a hard time when working. Technically I only worked for them for 9 months this year and in all practicalities, I don't think I can handle a job right now.

My questions are : Is there anything I can do to force this company to quit talking about me and my family?

2. What do I need to do to get myself out of this screw up? If a psychiatrist were to assess me they would say that I am not in my right mind.

3. Can they really take my daughter from us?

They cannot say anything factually untrue or you could sue for defamation.

...if there is any court hearing or real discussion about taking your daughter then make sure you call legal aid and get an attorney--they will intervene normally if a total loss of custody is at issue...
