I don't understand
My husband was arrested on May 8 for a warrant out of another county in Colorado. We live about 3 hours away in the same state. His warrant was for not complying with probation, it was issued in 2004. It doesn't make any sense to me because he got he license revoked a couple months ago for driving with no license in 2003. They said he should never have been able to get a license at all. We found that out and immediately went down to the police station here so he could see if there were anything else out there on him. The officer we talked to said he had nothing else on his record. That was a few months ago. Now on May 8 he got arrested. He has been sitting in the local county jail for 5 days and no one has told him his charges..although he has asked. We keep getting different stories from this county and the county that the warrant was issued. They told him he would go in front of the judge here on Friday and be able to do a bond, since the warrant was a no bond warrant. I get that, I can't get him out until he sees a judge. What I'm concerned about is no one is letting him know anything. The county that the warrant was issued out of won't let me know anything due to the fact I am not a party to the case..ok, but why won't they let him know what's going on? Isn't it his right to know? I have his 9 yr old son, who was sexually abused while in the care of his mom in Louisiana. We are in the middle of the court thing with that and I am scared that they are going to keep him in there for a long time. How long can this county legally keep him? Everyone keeps saying that the jail in the other county is so full they can't except him, so what is going to happen? I know that the warrant is a misdemeanor warrant and I don't understand why no one will let him know what is going on. Please, any help on his rights, laws or whatever would be greatly appreciately seeing as the public defender here said she can't take his case, and the public defender in the other county won't talk to me. Thank you.
