If you produce false identification to the cops do they arrest you on the spot? And what is the maximum sentence for this in NJ.

No you do not, it is up to the officer. You can simply get a summons to appear in court.
Jail tiome is not likely but you don't want this on your record, so get a lawyer involved and make sure it stays off your record--eventually at least. BTW, if your question drops out after a day or so for some reason, nobody is likely to pick it up unless you are back again. Retired Corrections |
