i received a subpoena to speak on behalf of the state in a case in a crime i witnessed.
the subpoena has a court date two days from now which i won't be able to attend. is there a way i can reschedule this or what? i don't want to screw my life because of some deadbeat loser. also the subpoena is from another county... if im half-way across the country or just can't get there what i can i do? |

I would like to add.
I checked the dockets on the day I am scheduled to attend. The Attendance Reason for the Joker says: Settlement. Other person's attendance reasons are: trial, settlement, petition/motion, etc. I assume this may mean the person pled guilty to the charges? |

It is often not valid if not from a court in your state.
You most likely need not attend. Get a local lawyer's opinion and have him review it. |
