More than two years ago I was arrested and charged with theft of a credit card. I bonded out in December of 2005 and have been awaiting word from the DA as to whether or not they would charge me. I got word a month ago that the charges went to the grand jury and an indictment was handed down. In the morning I face arraignment on the charges. Why did they wait more than two years? Was there some sort of time limit they were up against? That is what I was told, that they had to get the charges thru the grand jury within two years or loose the case. Now the DA has filed for discovery of evidence. What is that and how does it pertain to this case?
