Default Statute of limitations for ohio

I grew up in cleveland, Ohio and now live in California. I am 32 years old. When I was 12 or 13 my mom's boyfriend molested me.

I never forgave my mom for not reporting it. She died last year. Can I do anything legally about that now?

I know that he still lives in Cleveland and I know his first, middle and last name. He and my mom had a pair of twins together but, they never knew him although they carry his last name.

I am not sure what the statute of limitations are for ohio. But, I wish that I could do what my mom never did. Is there anything I could do at all about this one incident?

i am not a legal professional, just another average person, but i would say to call the prosecutor/district attorney there and ask that question.

Angry Re: Statute of Limitations for Ohio

I would also like to know! Thank you for asking this question! I was molested by a boyfriend of my mothers for years during my childhood. I live in Ohio, and the crimes were commited here. This has haunted me for over 20 years! I would like to put this to rest and finally have some peace, but this is a scary thing to hash out!

Thanks for your response. I have been in contact with the Office of the Cuyahoga County Prosecuter. I was advised to write down everthing that I know, the complete story. Like: dates, times, who knew, who didn't, as much detail that can be provided. They told me to send it as certified mail to the county office. I spoke with a lady named Lynda Quinn 216-698-2553. She was very helpful. She told me that as soon as I send them my info. they will look at it and determine if I have a case. Wish me luck and I hope this info. may help you some.

Yes, however, no longer in Cleveland. I was told Brunswick, Ohio. Thanks for the well wishes.
