Parole for Inmate
(Sorry if I am starting this in the wrong area--I just registered and am still trying to figure out where I need to be.)
The definatition of parole is something that could be given "before the maximum limit of the prison term has been reached," correct? Which, I understand to mean, in-place of some of the required sentence to be served, yes? Illinios requires 50% of sentences to be served (as I understand), so, an inmate given a 32-year sentence would serve 16 years. If as of August 2009, those 16 years has been served incarcerated how can 3 years of manditory parole be added on? Last edited by RoKe : 03-20-2008 at 10:16 AM. |

It does mean he gets out at 16 years--he is just eligible.
