Default No rights as a "Victim"

My husband and I got into an argument and our neighbors called the police. My husband is now being charged with Domestic Violence Disorderly Conduct. I understand that the law has to have means to go around victim's intent in these situations because most women will not charge their husbands. However, My husband and I got into an infrequent argument like most couples do. I have no control over what he is being charged with. I believe charges should be dropped. I have no say. Is there anything I can do?

When our neighbors came to our house to say they were calling the police on us, they left and he kicked the door shut. So he is also being charged with Criminal Damage Domestic Violence. How can he be charged with Criminal Damage to our own house. I am not understanding any of this.

Try speaking to the DA, or wld could do so for you. The DA has the right to continue to pursue the case on their own (even if you don't want them to) but if they feel this was a one-time incident and will never happen again--they may drop it. They want to make sure no abuse is continuing once you two are back together.
