Default Maine woman held in child porn probe after UK tip (AP)
AP - An investigation that started in Great Britain led to the arrest of a Maine woman who's accused of abusing a child and transmitting images of that online.

Julie M. Carr, 31, was arrested Friday after a tip from police in Britain's West Midlands about video that had been streamed online showing a woman performing sex acts on a child.

She was charged Monday with gross sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a minor. She was being held in the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton, on the Canadian border about 120 miles north of Bangor. She appeared in Superior Court in Caribou by videoconference but didn't enter a plea.
