Default Manhattan DA Morgenthau confirms will step down (Reuters)

Reuters - Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau confirmed on Friday that he will not seek re-election after 35 years on the job, retiring from a post in which he has focused on prosecuting financial crimes.

Morgenthau, 89, a fixture in the New York Democratic Party for decades, made the announcement at a news conference after it was reported by local media.
