They will yes. The debt still exists. But they may have a hard time collecting if they win.

It's not their problem if you don't have a job. You entered into a contractual agreement with them to pay your debt. If you failed to hold up your end of the deal, they have the right to sue you for the unpaid balance.

Ask yourself this: if you were the creditor and someone didn't pay you, would you care whether or not the person had a job or not or would you be entitled to the money you were owed?
