Strip Club Credit Card bill

Hello, i am hoping someone can give me some legal advice.

I live in th UK and was recently on holiday in Spain.

I visited a strip club one night and they were very accepting of my credit card. I remember authorising and signing for 3 transactions at the start of the night (i have receipts) for drinks and lap dances totalling 350 euros, the rest of the night is a blur.

Upon receiving my credit card bill the club had billed a total of 5165 euros to my card for drinks and vip services.

I do not remember authorising these other transactions (and have no receipts) and raised a dispute with my credit card provider. The club provided receipts with my signature and therefore my card provider did not find reason to decline the payments.

I admit i was clearly intoxicated on the night or possibly drugged (the club admitted in their statement to my card provider that i was 'very drunk') however they continued to ply me with expensive champagne and other services. As I can't recall anything I am of the opinion that i did not possess the requisite mental capacity to authorize these charges.

Can i pursue the club through legal action on this basis to reclaim the charges?

You certainly can challenge the charges and should do so if you did not give specific authorization. If they get many complaints their card privileges will be denied.
