My husband applied for credit at Conns. After he was approved he received numerous calls from sales people, he told them he wasnt ready to purchase, just wanted to see if he would be approved first. Needless to say, one of the sales men that had called used my husbands account to run up $2000 worth of purchases. After my husband received a payment book he called Conns to figure out what was going on, after they did some research, they found the employee (who used his own drivers lis) and fired him. Even though he has filed a police report, and Conns found and fired the guy, they still turned the account over to collections and are currently harassing my husband for payment. It has also kept us from getting approved for a home loan. What is his recourse to getting this resolved, neither Conns nor the collection agency are being cooperative?

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior... You may also report them to your state attorney general's office. World law's attorneys could also become directly involved. Just email them.
