Question Credit score does not match credit

Over the last several months, my husband and I were at car dealerships looking for a new car. On two of these occasions, including the last time, the salesman came back to us after pulling our credit reports and said that he couldn't undstand why our credit rating was so low. The reports themselves were showing excellent credit histories.

How can I reconcile these differences?
