EEK! Appearance "Denied" in District Court -- Is that legal?

I am currently starting the "court" proceedings on criminal charges (felony & misd). Yesterday, I met w/the public (pretender) defender and I was informed that I can NOT attend the omnibus hearing next week!

Is that legal? Can they do this?

I know that in one of the judges courtrooms, you have to be present for the omnibus hearing. If you choose not to, you have to sign off on a waiver. But now I've been told that I can't attend my own hearing - what gives?

Confirm with the prosecutor and ask for that in writing.
