Default Nancy Grace: Freeing Amanda Knox a 'miscarriage of justice' -- Vote now!

- Amanda Knox found not guilty of murder by Italian jury, in appeals trial
- Nancy Grace attacks Amanda Knox defense

Quote:
CBS/AP) PERUGIA, Italy - A jury has overturned Amanda Knox's 2007 conviction for the murder of her British roommate Meredith Kercher in Italy, and Knox is to be freed immediately. A tearful Knox told an appeals court in Italy that accusations that she killed her British roommate are unfair and groundless. Knox fought back tears as she addressed the court Monday, minutes before the jury went into deliberations to decide whether to uphold her murder conviction.

"I've lost a friend in the worst, most brutal, most inexplicable way possible," Knox said of the murder of Kercher to the courtroom. "I'm paying with my life for things that I didn't do."
On Monday, an Italian appeals court threw out Amanda Knox’s murder conviction and freed the 24-year-old after she spent almost four years in prison, but HLN host and “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Nancy Grace feels justice was not served.

“I was very disturbed, because I think it is a huge miscarriage of justice,” Grace told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson after Monday’s “DWTS” when asked about the high profile trial that also saw her co-defendant, Raffaele Sollecito, cleared of killing 21-year-old Meredith Kercher in 2007.

The truth is there is no DNA evidence to convitct Amanda or Raffelli; they lowered the testing levels to 15, to find some DNA. Just in comparison the FBI level is 200, so they are sure, so labs go to 150. But never have I heard of a lab going to less than 100 on the DNA scale. The truth is that there is no evidence, and this so called dream seqeuce Disgrace is talking about was after 20 hrs of interrogation.

@3:12 "they've retried ALL the evidence"...not true. In the Italian appeal system one only needs to show doubt on the WEAKEST piece of evidence not all, if successful the defendant is usually acquitted, it does not mean she is innocent, just that there is reasonable doubt. We have a similar system of "not proven" here in Scotland where one can be acquitted even if guilty. I believe America has the "Alford plea" that allows an innocent person to plead guilty, yet maintain their innocence. Knox did it!

Murder of Meredith Kercher

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The murder of Meredith Kercher occurred in Perugia, Italy, on 1 November 2007. Kercher, aged 21 at the time of her death, was a British university exchange student from Coulsdon, South London. She shared a flat with three other young women. She was sexually assaulted and stabbed repeatedly, and some of her property was stolen.

Rudy Guede, a resident of Perugia, was convicted on 28 October 2008 of the sexual assault and murder of Kercher. His fast-track conviction was upheld, and he is now serving a reduced sentence of 16 years. Also charged were Raffaele Sollecito, an Italian student, and Amanda Knox, an American exchange student and a flatmate of Kercher. Knox and Sollecito were convicted of sexual assault and murder in December 2009, and were given sentences of 26 and 25 years respectively. Knox and Sollecito appealed the verdict and the Italian appeals court reversed their convictions on 3 October 2011.
The trials have been the subject of news reports around the world, particularly in Italy, Britain and the United States. The coverage has been criticised for being tabloid in nature rather than presenting the evidence accurately and dispassionately.
Reactions to the case have been polarized between the view that Knox and Sollecito were innocent victims of a miscarriage of justice and the view that they were directly involved in Kercher's murder.

Nancy Nancy Nancy....

I doubt a full appeals court is making any decision based on Italian US relations. I trust they made the right decision.
