My firm developed, published and owns the copyrights to an electronic book (ebook) that we offer as a free download to drive traffic to our various websites.

We clearly delineated the rights to distribute the eBook in the eBook itself under Copyright, Licensing and Disclaimer Information:

"You are entitled to make unlimited copies of this ebook to distribute in any legal way, provided you do not charge for distribution and you do not change the contents without prior permission."

A company that sells turn-key websites added the ebook to their package. The turnkey sites sell the ebook in their catalog, including master resale rights.

I discovered this in my recent monthly searches for copyright violations on the ebook - in the last month upwards of 2,000 turnkey sites with our ebook being sold on their sites have been published and are online.

What remedies can I take on this? Can I demand financial compensation from the turn-key site seller for the sales they have already made?

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior...
