trademark a tv show title

Can i trademark the name of a new tv show title in development? what type of trademark would i file? are there any benefits to doing this or is this even necesary? thanks

Inevitably, Registering your Show's Name & Mark is much useful, further, considering the future growth and popularity of your show.
By registering with USPTO, you can protect your name, mark and Goodwill. You can efficiently claim redressal and damages for many other Kinds of infringments(In Tech World) which are not visible right now.

If a trademark has been made and say the producer/host wants to use some clips for this show for their own demo reel, can they do this? The show has been broadcast for several years?
