Default Copyright Intestate Transfer Question

So I am working for a record label that is putting out field recordings and heritage music from a specific region. We have materials from an artist who has passed away. He had seven children and four daughters are still alive. I understand how intestate laws work in Tennessee but I need to know if the surviving daughters can sign off on an agreement to license their father's copyrights on these recordings? A fraction of the estate is automatically transferred to the deceased's children's children. Do we have to track them down and get their permission as well, or will permission from the four remaining daughters suffice?

Thanks

I wish to inform you that as all legal heirs are jointly owner of the sound recording therefore permission from all the children will be required. If only few legal heir permission is taken then others may object as violation of their rights. You can have assignment agreement n writing so that there is no disputes at a later stage. Agreement can be signed and sent through post or in other cost effective manner.

Thank you for the very quick response, AFFA! So at this point we will need to get permission from the four surviving daughters AND permission from the children of each dead son (those being the original fellas grandchildren).
