Question Having content removed

Hi,

I have been a member of an open forum for a year and during this time I have provided loads of content developed by me. My relationship with the hosts and owner of the forum has rapidly deteriorated and I now want both my membership to the forum cancelled and my contribution removed.

The forum has terms of usage specifying the following :
"Forum-name does not claim ownership of content you or third-parties post to a board. With respect to content that you post or make available through a board, however, without limiting any other rights these usage terms afford to Forum-name, you grant forum-name a world-wide, perpetual, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, publicly perform, and publicly display such content for the purpose of providing and promoting the Service."

I have asked the owner of the forum to suspend my membership and delete my posts, but have had absolutely no response. Am I within my rights to ask them to delete the content ? I do not live in the country where the forum is registered, does this make a difference to my rights ? What can I legally do to force them to delete the content contributed by me ?

Thank you in advance

Default Re: Having content removed

Normally no--if you post they can keep it on the site. You could threaten a lawsuit and they may compromise but your position is not that strong legally.
