Legal Issues Behind Professional Sports Jerseys

A business partner and I recently opened an online retailer of professional sports jerseys (MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL). These jerseys look authentic and the supplier claims they are. We are unsure of the laws the surround the selling of these. Because we are truly unsure of their authenticity and their pricing is so low, we describe these as replica authentics, do not claim they are licensed or authentic anywhere in their descriptions, and sell them anywhere from $70 - $80 each. We have seen local businesses sell the same jerseys at authentic prices (Greater than $120). Is there somewhere we can look to find out if they are authentic or not? If they are not authentic, should we stop sales of these products based on legal issues? If they are not authentic, does anyone know what we need to do to begin selling authentics? As I have seen in other posts, there are others that have similar questions. Hopefully this post will begin to clear up those questions as well as provide a means for those that are in the same situation to begin confidently selling these products.
