Hi
I run a free online games website and have received a trademark infringement email notice from a law firm representing Heckler and Koch (a guns manufacturer). The email itself did not indicate any infringement, but came with a pdf file with a generic notice that was not dated, did not refer to me or my website and more importantly did not tell me what free game / url on our site contains a gun image that infringes on the trademark. I promptly responded asking for more information so that the game could be removed as soon as possible and was given the following reply: " Unfortunately, I do not have the time to certify your product line for you. It is your responsibility to review the games being offered on your website to prevent trademark violations. Any games which contain replications of H&K weapon designations or designs are unauthorized and should be immediately removed. " Firstly, we do not have a 'product line' - we simply have online games. They do not seem to be aware of the correct format in sending a DMCA notice to a website. Our site is a user content generated site with literally thousands of games - it is ridiculous that they do not have the intelligence to simply point out which game is the problem. Can someone offer help or advice? Thanks Frank |

I am not sure then that I would waste my time if they cannot tell what they are talkking about. Let them take the next step.
