I understand the general idea of plagiarism, but want to define the boundries where some words or a sentence is used, taken from some writing. It may be something in common use, eg. 'as stale as old bread' and I wouldn't know if this belongs to someone Can I use it? Also the author where I read it may have copied it? I don't want to take another's work but now and then I see a few words that would fit in a novel I am writing. At the monent I would like to use,' He spread his seed all over the world but never went back for the harvest' What do you think?
