Stolen or not?
I was hired to do some writing for a new magazine.
Based on the website I thought it would be a professional looking magazine. (This is the editors first time publishing a magazine and the first issue is due out in September)
The magazine looks horrible and she was unwilling to pay me to help redesign it so I want to pull my articles from it.
She said ok initially! (I have documentation of this) and removed them from the site!
Then she wrote back and said she had spoken to her attorney and decided NOT to pull them from the website or the magazine.
She now has some of my work on the website without giving me credit and she has stuff she hasnt paid me for online with credit. I never agreed for anything to be online.
She said her attorney said I submitted them to her so she owns them and can do what she wants with them
but she hasnt paid me yet. She said I have to invoice her- but my articles are NOT for sell in her crappy magazine.
She has not paid me a dime and is using my stuff online and in her soon to be published magazine. Is this theft? Can she use my stuff without my permission?
I have proof and documentation of everything.
Thank you!
Note: I do not want the money. I do not want to invoice her.
